For several years when I was active with ASQ’s Quality Management Division I had the opportunity to meet and work with Russell Westcott. We teamed up on the 2nd edition of the Certified Quality Manager (now CMQ/OE) handbook, and also delivered a CQM refresher course for ASQ’s Learning Offerings.
He was really the consumate professional. Not trying to become famous, just wanting to continually provide knowledge to help others become better at leading their organization’s quality efforts.
On February 3rd of this year Russ passed. He didn’t want an obituary or a funeral. He had done his job. And he made me proud to have known and worked with him.
He will be missed.
