The bruhaha about the upcoming revision of ISO 9001 has been interesting.  Most of the folks who have actually been involved in the revision who are out speaking and making money on it reference Annex SL as their primary discussion.  Yet the annex is really irrelevant to companies who want a good quality management system (QMS).

In effect, the revision is going to be a significant structural change, but not really much different in requirements.  Companies should therefore learn to develop their QMS based on what makes sense to them, and provide registrars with a matrix cross-referencing the standard.
