As I’ve been saying for several years now, the healthcare industry is one that should place high priority on process benchmarking. Since all are dealing with the same raw material (the human body), what one organization does is very relevant to others. Performance should therefore be able to be improved significantly just by finding out what the better performers do, and adopt similar practices.
